News: DU Colleges to start ECA trials from June 29
New Delhi: With the application process of Delhi University (DU) closing on Monday, colleges are now set for ECA trials. Majority of the colleges are likely to start their trials from June 29 and would continue till the first week of July. Hence, it is time for the aspirants to gear up and make the best use of their creative skills and athletic abilities to secure a seat in Delhi University.
Colleges like Gargi, Kamla Nehru and Hansraj will begin their trails from June 29 while Lady Shri Ram (LSR) will conduct its trials of the extra curricular activities category in the first week of July. Hansraj will hold the trials only for a day, while the trials will go on at Gargi College for two days. Deen Dayal Upadhyay College will conduct ECA trials on July 4 and 5.
Other than the dance, music and debate categories, these year many other creative and interesting categories has been added to the list. Like for example, Gargi will conduct trials in photography and LSR will have trials in social services.
Hansraj College will notify the list of short listed candidates for ECA trials on June 29. The college has received around 4,000 applications this year for 50-odd ECA/sports seats. Kamla Nehru College will meet on June 22 to decide the guidelines for the trials and Hindu College is yet to come out with its schedule.
According to the DU admission policy, 5% over and above the seats per subject will be set aside for ECA-sports category admissions.
Weightage will be given to the certificate of the winner/participants at the international, national, state, zonal and school level competition. While 25% weightage will be given to the certificates, 75% will be given to the trials.
